Poll: ‘Misgendering’ Should Be A Crime Say 44% of Millennials

In a recent survey conducted by Newsweek, it was revealed that a majority of millennials, specifically 44% of those aged 25-34, believe that referring to someone using the wrong gender pronoun (he/him, she/her) should be considered a criminal offense. Among this age group, 31% disagreed with this idea, while 25% remained neutral or uncertain.

For the 35 to 44 age group, 38% agreed that misgendering should be illegal, while 35% disagreed, and 26% either had no opinion or were unsure.

Younger adults in Generation Z, aged 18-24, showed slightly lower support for this notion. Among them, 33% believed misgendering should be a crime, while 48% disagreed, and 19% were either uncertain or neutral on the matter. Still, it’s concerning that one-third of this group endorses penalizing those who do not conform to woke speech codes that infringe upon First Amendment rights.

The overall outlook is more positive when considering Americans as a whole. Only 19% of the surveyed population supported criminalizing misgendering, while a substantial 65% disagreed, 12% were neutral, and 4% were unsure.

When it comes to using opposite-sex pronouns, the poll found that 37% of respondents would agree to use female pronouns for someone born male if asked to do so, while 38% would use male pronouns for a person born female if requested. Twenty-eight percent responded with “it depends on the person,” and 17% were uncertain about using “she/her” for a biological male, with similar numbers for women living as men.

The survey, conducted by Redfield & Wilton Strategies for Newsweek, involved 1,500 eligible voters in the United States and was conducted on July 6.

Pronoun disputes have arisen due to gender ideologues promoting the idea that a person can change from one gender to another. These activists also create new gender identities like “xenogenders,” which they craft towards things outside the scope of human understanding, such as animals or plants. Additionally, they invent “neopronouns” to accompany these false identities, resulting in an alphabetized list of over 1,450 different pronouns.

While the Christian faith encourages love for individuals affected by gender ideology, it also calls for standing firm in God’s truth. According to this truth, humans are created male and female in the image of God. The call to love others does not require us to speak untruths. People are either male or female based on their biology, not part of the countless newly created “sexualities” or “genders.”

With an increasing number of individuals embracing this false gender ideology and advocating for criminalization and cancelation of dissenting views, it is crucial for Christians and all rational individuals to comprehend the underlying issues. It is also essential to speak the truth about God’s design for sexuality wisely, courageously, and kindly.
